The sanctuary, at the heart of Southern Utah's Golden Circle of national parks, is home, on any given day, to about 1,500 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds and other animals.

The mission of Best Friends is driven by the simple philosophy that kindness to animals helps build a better world for all of us. And the work of Best Friends is supported entirely through the donations of our members and supporters. Through the generous hearts and hands of people like you, we can ensure that animals who come into the care of Best Friends will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain.

Founded in 1987, United Animal Nations (UAN) is North America’s leading provider of emergency animal sheltering and disaster relief services and a key advocate for the critical needs of animals. UAN assists animals by helping to prevent, mitigate and resolve crises. We accomplish this by sharing expertise, resources and information to empower others to help more animals.

DOGS DESERVE BETTER is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to freeing the chained dog, and bringing
our 'best friend' into the home and family.

Tails of Hope Sanctuary is an organization which rescues shelter animals who are in trouble. These animals may have simply run out of time at the shelter, or have correctable health or behavioral needs which we address before they become available for adoption. Either way, we provide a safe place for them while they await a permanent home, and we free up much-needed space at shelters. Currently, our Sanctuary is actually a network of foster care providers.

The HSUS is the nation's largest animal protection organization with more than seven million members and constituents. The HSUS is a mainstream voice for animals, with active programs in companion animals, wildlife and habitat protection, animals in research, and farm animals. The HSUS protects all animals through legislation, litigation, investigation, education, advocacy and field work. A non-profit organization, The HSUS celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004, is based in Washington, D.C. and has seven regional offices across the country.

The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food for some of the 27 million unwanted animals given to shelters in the U.S. every year. Over 10 million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.

Each click on the purple "Fund Food for Animals" button at The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. Funding for food and care is paid by site sponsors and distributed to animals in need at the Fund for Animals' renowned animal sanctuaries (including Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Texas and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in California), pet shelters supported by the Petfinder Foundation, North Shore Animal League, and other worthy animal care facilities supported by the GreaterGood.org foundation.

SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke Counties

The first shelter in Winchester/Frederick County was acknowledged in 1952, but we've been saving pets in the community since the early 1900's! We are a private, tax-exempt, non profit corporation. We are NOT a chapter or branch of the HSUS, ASPCA or AHA - we are an independent agency. In addition, we do NOT receive funding from national animal welfare organizations, federal or state governments. Therefore, we rely on private and corporate donations.

Frederick County Esther L. Boyd Animal Shelter

We are a government funded animal shelter designed to house the stray and unwanted animals of Frederick County. The shelter handles approximately 3000 animals per year. The building features adoption areas for both dogs and cats including two "cat livingrooms". Additional space is provided for stray animals, pregnant or nursing animals, and isolation. Shelter services include: accepting all animals from Frederick County residents, animal adoption, rabies clinics, trap rental, lost/found animal service, and humane education.
